I had this before it attracts bugs to your home because the rocks have gaps and they live in those gaps. I ended up taking out the rocks not a good idea maybe away from the house but not beside the house.

The plant spacing and numbers kill me

Pretty much defeats the point of using the top soil/mulch at the end with a layer of weed fabric between it. Those plants won't thrive as well as they would without it. The only way to avoid having weeds is TO PLANT MORE PLANTS soany varities of flowers and edible landscpe peices. Mich better oay off on plants that'll last than the plastic that'll need to bd replCed in abot 2-3 seasons after.

Never use Fabric. Over time it deteriorates and destroys the soil. Weeds grow on top of the fabric. Use cardboard.
